This High Adventure Award was created by three Scouts from Troop 93 in Fullerton, CA, who planned and
participated in an international trek to climb Mt. Olympus in Greece during the summer of 2024. In addition
to backpacking in the Mount Olympus National Park, these Scouts spent time visiting historic sites like the
Acropolis and the Temple of Zeus. Their journey took them through Athens, Marathon, Thessaloniki, Crete
and a night in Istanbul, Turkey. Along their journey they toured the Scouts of Greece Council office in Athens
and additionally met up with a local Troop while traveling by train to the Mount Olympus National Park.
During this meeting the Scouts and Scouters shared scouting traditions from each country.
Scouting opens doors to amazing adventures and opportunities, so think BIG and go bigger!
